How your details are handled

This page covers the website at rjmacarthy.xyz and its enquiry form. It is written in plain language because that is how the site works: simply.

The enquiry form

When you send the form, the details you enter — your name, email address and your message — are sent to my email delivery provider, Resend, which delivers them to my inbox as an ordinary email. Resend processes messages in its EU region for this site.

I use those details for one purpose: to reply to you and talk about the project you've described. I don't add you to a mailing list, share your details with anyone else, or use them for anything unrelated to your enquiry.

The website itself does not store your enquiry. There is no database behind the form. The small service that forwards the form to Resend keeps only a short-lived, in-memory count of requests per network address to limit abuse; that is discarded automatically and is never written to disk.

Once your enquiry reaches my inbox it is handled like any other business email. If you'd like it deleted, tell me and I'll do that.

Cookies and analytics

This site sets no cookies and includes no analytics, advertising or tracking scripts. It uses the fonts already on your device rather than loading any from a third party, so viewing the page doesn't send anything to anyone else.

This domain also hosts an older, separately built blog under /blog. Those archived pages were made with a different setup and include Google Analytics. They are not part of this site and are not covered by this page.

Server logs

Like almost every website, the web server records standard access logs: the address a request came from, the page requested, the time, and the browser's user-agent string. These logs are used to keep the site running and secure and are not used to build profiles. The contents of enquiry forms are not written to these logs.

Links to other sites

The site links to third-party sites such as GitHub. Each of those has its own privacy policy.

Your rights

You can ask me what information I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. The easiest way is to reply to any email from me, or to use the enquiry form.
